Two Storey Extension And Garage Conversion

We highly recommend DMJ Building and Roofing Ltd to anyone looking to do any kind of building work. We had previously been seriously let down by a local builder in Rustington, West Sussex when we had had a single storey rear extension done. When we had our third child we decided we needed more space. Our house was at the time a three bedroom semi but the third bedroom was a small "box" room. We had been thinking about moving house but the cost to move and stay in our daughter's school's catchment area was very expensive. We were also thinking about possibly doing a two storey extension as an alternative option, which would therefore solve our badly leaking roof and structural issues, and give us the extra space we needed. However we were very worried that we could not find anyone to trust to do the building work after having been stung before by our prevous builder. However we went ahead and got several quotes from builders but they were far too much or just never got back to us. Then we found David Jackson and he was very friendly and helpful answering all of our questions which really put us at ease. His quote was much more reasonable.

David also answered all of our questions with what stages were involved in the whole process of doing a build which can be very confusing, ie. getting the plans and planning permission, structural surveys, building calculations and building regulations. Our plan was to convert our garage and add a second storey on top, adding a large fourth bedroom with en-suite bathroom. David liased with all third parties, including architect, structural engineer, building inspector and the local council, and also importantly sourced building materials at very low cost, significantly saving us money. Once the planning permission was approved work went ahead straight away with DMJ Building and Roofing. Within a few weeks we had a house to be very proud of, with a new large downstairs playroom and dining room and large upstairs fourth bedroom, with splayed velux, and a lovely en-suite bathroom. We cannot thank David and his brother Andy enough for their hard work in delivering our build to such a high standard and keeping everything within budget. Thank you very much."
